I have been skiing since I knew how to walk as my parents were lucky to have a flat in a small resort of the Pyrenees. Even with this experience I am not much of a technical skier, as I prefer to enjoy the scenery and many coffee stops up the mountain!
I became a member of the ski club the very week I arrived in Scotland from France back in 2013. It gave me the opportunity to build many long lasting friendships with a wide variety of people. As chair, I look forward to welcoming old and new members, and will strive to support the committee in bringing you the best activities and services.

My love for snowboarding and winter sports brought me to the Edinburgh ski club in 2010. Since then I have been on the committee for Membership, Chair and Treasurer plus helped out with Ski Hire and Weekends.

I joined the club a couple of years after moving to Edinburgh and my only regret is not becoming a member sooner. It’s been a fantastic way to make lasting friendships and indulge in a whole host of things, not just skiing but weekends away, hiking and of course evening socials too. You’ll also find my gorgeous black lab Murphy a regular attendee at events. As for skiing itself - well I am definitely a fair weather skier and love the social aspect as much as I do gliding effortlessly down the slopes through gritted teeth!
It’s my first year on the committee and my main role is to record the minutes of our quarterly committee meetings and annual AGM.

I joined the club in 2007 and have been on the committee since 2014 helping with membership. I’ve been fortunate to ski from a young age and the club has allowed me to continue with my love of skiing by going on club holidays to new ski resorts with great people who have become good friends. Outside of the club, I enjoy playing and watching rugby, tennis and golf and trying the new restaurants that Edinburgh has to offer.

I’ve been a member of the club for 10 years after learning to ski in 2008 and moving to Edinburgh in 2009. This is my first year helping the committee to promote the club to new and existing members.
I fell in love with skiing on my first ever long weekend skiing in La Tania and have never looked back. Joining the club has not only given me the chance to meet fellow skiers but I have become a keen munro bagger and created an amazing and varied social circle with fellow members.

I’ve been skiing for about 25 years, the last seven of which I’ve been a member of the club. I’ve made so many good friends here, including my wife, and always look forward to meeting new people as well. Whether it’s at a party, a talk or sports day (I confess I’ve never made it onto one of the holidays!) for me the best thing about the Edinburgh ski club are the people.
I’ve just taken over the management of the clubrooms this year and I’m really excited to be back on the committee.

I gave up figure skating in favour of skiing when I was 13. Think that was a good decision! It was all Scottish skiing for many, many years so I can handle sheet ice, heather and granite competently. My fondness for skiing here is strong, always a beautiful adventure.
My role in ski club is a new one. I’m the contact for all things social-media related. I really enjoy aiming to engage, attract and inform anyone who follows us.

I joined Edinburgh Ski Club in 2009 and straight away found it a great place to meet lots of like-minded people who love skiing and outdoor activities more generally…and socialising! For a while I was the Club's only snowblader, but I'm happy to say our range of excellent rental skis has cured me of this embarrassing habit. I run the Club’s holidays and our winter weekend, so if you’re looking for some fun in the snow, get in touch. Ideas for future holiday destinations are also welcome.

I enjoy all outdoor activities - skiing, cycling, hillwalking, etc as well as being an avid rugby fan and love watching it. I also enjoy being out and about for dinner and drinks. I look after the ski coaching for the club, support ski and snowboard hire and organise our annual ski club fun race on the winter weekend.

I was a snowboarder for several years before switching to skiing three years ago; absolutely love it. Joined the ski club in 2016 to meet like-minded people and relieve the boredom of working in the pensions industry! I’m now a member of the committee and help with ski hire.

I absolutely love both skiing and snowboarding. My ski holidays are the highlight of my year. Edinburgh Ski club has been great for me. For example, I’ve taken up mountain biking and hill walking. I have been in Edinburgh Ski Club for 3 years and I've recently joined the committee of the club where I am co-ordinating social events with Wendy. If you have an event you’d like to organise please get in touch.

I have been skiing since a young child starting my skiing career at the little north east ski resort the Lecht! After moving to Edinburgh I joined the ski club in 2010 and haven’t looked back since! I have met a lot of like minded people and have enjoyed several amazing ski holidays, weekends up north, climbing munros and getting into mountain biking! Looking forward to seeing you all at the social events.

Murderers have spent less time in jail than I have in the ski club! Let’s just say I joined before 2000 so it has to be a good club right?! I have just taken over weekends again after doing this before when everything was pen and paper and not online so there’s lots of changes in the way we manage events. I like skiing, which kind of goes without saying, and would say I’m an average skier, even after all these years. I also enjoy sailing and have seen most of the Scottish islands. I enjoy mountain walks and staying in bothies although I won’t say no to a nice hotel.

Tame adrenaline junky who likes snowboarding, mountain biking and occasional skiing. Prefers stairs to slides (ask me about that one day!). A pale ale every time although an espresso martini won’t go amiss either. Have just stepped down from the position of chair and have also helped with PR and communications for the club.
