Note: I will not be around from Sept 9th - Sept 23rd 2007, so no new accounts will be enabled
The forum can be read by anyone, but you must register first in order to post messages. See below.
As of July 1st 2007 I have made the following forums viewable only by registered (and logged-in) members: Events, Weekends, Holidays, and General Discussions
The idea is that the forum can be used for discussing ski club social events, weekends and holidays. For example, you might use it to offer or ask for a lift to a social event, ski lessons or ski guiding for a club holiday, or a taxi share to the summer ball from your side of town.
It can also be used to organize non ski club activities - nights out in town, cinema, cycling, hillwalking, golf, sailing, holidays etc. However it doesnt look good if these are in direct competition with organized ski club events and holidays, so this will be closely monitered.
Please remember this is a public forum, think carefully about what you are posting and the effect it may have on others.
Use of smileys (or emoticons) is greatly encouraged :-)
If you play badminton then join the 'badminton' group by clicking on 'Usergroups' at the top right of the main forum page, selecting 'badminton' from the list of groups you are not a member of, clicking on 'View Information', then clicking 'Join Group'
Please note that while anyone may read messages your must register in order to post. This is a simple process that takes a couple of minutes. All you need to provide is a valid e-mail address. This is so we can ensure that inappropriate content is not posted.
We would prefer that you choose a username that other members can recognise, i.e. just your firstname, or firstname and initial, or full name if you prefer e.g. ian or ianw.
Once you register then your account will activated when it is approved by the moderator. If I dont recognise who you are by your email address or username then I may email you to ask if you really are a ski club member!
Go to the main forum page and enter one of the forums (e.g. Events, Weekends, Holidays etc.). In each
forum you will see a list of topics. If you want to post a message for a new topic then click the
new topic button:
If you click into a topic to read the posts there, then you can add a message to that topic by
clicking the post reply button:
The forum had a built-in messanging system that members can use to send private messages to each other. This is all achieved without your email address ever being seen by any other member. Once a private message has been sent then the forum itself emails you to say that you have received a message. You then need to login to the forum to read your messages.
The email address you register with will never be made public.
Please do not include any personal details in posts, e.g. address, phone number etc. If anyone does this by accident then please message me and I will remove the detail asap.
I have now hidden the memberlist from non-registered users. This means it is now safe to allow your MSN details or email address to be visible here.
Inappropriate or offensive posts will be removed by one of the moderators. Anyone regularly abusing the forum will be barred.
