Winter Weekend 2019

We return to the popular Ballachulish Hotel for our 2019 winter weekend from 8-10 February 2019.

Cost

The cost of the weekend is £85 per person, which includes dinner, bed and breakfast for two nights.

Book a place

Bookings will open at our Wash Bar meeting on Tuesday 30 October 2018, with bookings by email opening the following day.  Remember that your membership needs to be up to date to book this event.

Weekend activities

Weather and snow permitting, we can ski and snowboard at Nevis Range or Glencoe, including the infamous race on the Saturday. If there is no snow there are lots of alternative local activities.

In recent years members have enjoyed biking, walking, ice climbing, or in some cases cake-eating as well as, or instead of, the usual snow sport activities.

Making arrangements

All members are responsible for arranging their own transport and activities. If you would like to arrange lift shares, or can offer a lift share, please post in the members’ Facebook group in the run up to the event.

Announcements will be made on the Friday and Saturday night to help everyone plan activities for the following day.

About the festival

Tiree Music Festival (TMF) is more than a music festival, it is a true island adventure to one of the most stunning festival locations in the world.

Think picture-perfect white sands. World-famous surf. Deserted roads lined with lush greenery and wild flowers. Not forgetting more sunshine than practically anywhere else in the UK. It’s little wonder that the tiny Hebridean island of Tiree is nicknamed the ‘Hawaii of the North’.

TMF is a small and intimate festival, always a sell out with a maximum capacity of 2,000, which is what makes it so special. TMF is organised by members of the famous Scottish Celtic Rock Band Skeeryvore, with last year’s lineup including the Levellers and Flook, along with many more great acts. TMF has won 9 national awards including ‘Best Small Festival in Scotland’ at the 2016 Scottish Event Awards.
