ESC Goes Hillwalking (waiting list in operation)
12 September @ 9:30 am - 7:00 pmFree
The event sold out, if you would like to be added to the waiting list please email email@example.com. If 5 people join the waiting list I will try to find a new volunteer for navigation. Thanks.
ESC is taking the hills, even without snow! We have chosen a location where you can chose to climb one or two Munros, so the keen walkers will be able to pick up the pace while less experienced hill-walkers can take their time.
- One munro – Beinn Dorian, approximately 11km and an ascent of 975m
- Two munros – Beinn Dorain and Beinn an Dothaidh, 14km and an ascent of 1228m
There will be volunteers helping with navigation, but note that participation is at your own risk. You must have appropriate boots and a backpack containing layers of clothing, your lunch and at least a litre of fluids. You should have reasonable fitness – walking 10km on flat ground should be very easy for you, and you should have tried hill walking before. It is a tiring day out!
To help with distancing we will be limiting the numbers and splitting into groups of 5 for the walk. Book your place below.
You can travel to the hills by train or car – there is plenty of parking available at Bridge of Orchy. To limit the numbers on the day we will provide details on the precise start time and location by email after you have registered. You can discuss car sharing in our private Facebook Group although this is probably best kept to small numbers at the current time.
Virus permitting we will then eat at the Bridge of Orchy Inn before heading home.
If you are keen to come, please register below.
This event is subject to cancellation based on official guidance on pandemic restrictions as well as adverse weather.
This event is only for Members who paid their fees for the 2020/21 subscription year.
