Campitello is a small and traditional village in the Val di Fassa which had a new high speed lift added in 25/26 to provide direct access to the 1,220km Dolomiti Superski area, the biggest ski area in the world, and includes the famous Sella Ronda in a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

The bright and welcoming Hotel Diamant is a 4 star hotel sitting in a quiet position with jagged Dolomite peaks forming an iconic backdrop. It is 3 minutes’ walk to the resort centre and 7 minutes’ walk to the Col Rodella cable car which takes you to 2,400 metres. The hotel has a wellness centre, sauna, steam room and fitness centre (extra charge), with access to the pool at the hotel next door (extra charge).

The board includes buffet breakfast, 4-course evening meal with a choice of main course and daily salad buffet, weekly gala meal and weekly themed evening.

Throughout its bedrooms, lounge and bar spaces, this place gets its authentic character from its classic Tyrolean alpine style. Extensive wooden furnishing, local artwork and touches all give you that warm and cosy feeling – perfect to come back to after a day of bracing the mountain chill.

Tignes Val Claret (France) – Belambra Hotel Le Diva, £1,495 with half-board, full area lift pass, and ski carriage or discounted hire in resort

6-13 March 2027

Tignes Val Claret, situated at 2,300 metres, is a top resort with 300km of piste across the Tignes-Val d’Isère area. There is skiing up to 3,456m on the Grande Motte glacier, and excellent slopes to suit every range of ability.

The Diva is a 3 star hotel in a great location in the centre of Val Claret with a spa, sauna, steam room and fitness room. It is a couple of minutes’ walk to the nearest lift and you can ski almost back via red or blue run.

The hotel itself is a simple, no-fuss place, with traditional stone and pops of red from the carpets and cushions. There’s a big lounge and bar where you can relax in the evenings, and there is sauna and steam room. Meals are served buffet style and there are mountain views while you eat. One glass of wine is served with the evening meal. Once you’re done, sit on the terrace to look out over the slopes, or head to the Irish pub.

La Belle Plagne (France) – Hotel L’Eden des Cimes, £1,380 with half-board, full area lift pass, and ski carriage or discounted hire in resort

20-27 March 2027

The hotel is in Belle Plagne at 2,100 metres and it’s on a blue run right on the slopes, so you can click into your skis at the door and swoosh straight off to explore the Paradiski area. It is ski-in, ski-out on the Belle Plagne blue run, in the centre of Belle Plagne, and 5 minutes’ walk to the Roche de Mio gondola.

Food-wise, there’s a buffet breakfast spread to set you up for the ski day every morning, then in the evening, refuel with a 3 course buffet evening meal. The chefs here switch up the buffets every night, so you can try something new each day of your holiday.

Hotel facilities include a bar with fireplace, sun terrace, billiards and table football.

There is one single room available for £1,660 — to be available by ballot.
